System implementation or security failures can damage a firm’s reputation.  Problems associated with the failure of the technologies or the selection of the wrong technologies can be costly, On the other hand, creative use of Information Technology can be a strategic advantage.  How do directors balance the risk and rewards and what about the unknown risks?  During our program, we will explore these and related issues with an expert panel that will share practical insights on questions directors should ask. Issues we will explore include:
- The director’s role in IT oversight including critical information decisions and security
- Critical issues in evaluation of IT decisions
- When should a director get help?
- How can a company recover from a disaster
- Shifting the risk burden: use of insurance – what are the options

You'll have the opportunity to learn from the experience of expert panelists on the topic as well as through the discussion among fellow directors in attendance. You'll also have the opportunity to meet other corporate directors from the North Texas area.
